we share with our dogs.

My name is Sanna-Kaisa, and I’m the founder
and heart of Pohjolan Huskies.
I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs my whole life, and when I turned 18, the first huskies came into my life. That was the beginning of a journey filled with speed, trust, and a deep bond between human and dog.

I live with my partner and our thirteen dogs by the peaceful,
beautiful lake Venejärvi in Finnish Lapland. Eleven of our dogs are Siberian and Alaskan huskies who are energetic sled dogs with motors in their paws. We also share our home with a gentle Australian Shepherd and a curious Finnish Spitz.

The wellbeing of our dogs is everything to us.
We want to give them the best possible life, not just as working dogs, but as beloved family members. That’s why we’ve said goodbye to traditional dog kennels and built a warm, modern dog house, where they have both indoor and outdoor spaces and the freedom to come and go as they please through their own little doors.
The house is heated in winter, there's always fresh water available,
and plenty of room for rest and relaxation.

All our dogs are incredibly friendly and people loving. They absolutely thrive on attention and enjoy spending time with guests. We do many things together, from training to travel.
Yes, we even go on vacations with all thirteen of them!

We are also passionate about sled dog sports (mushing), a sport where dogs pull a sled, cart, bike, or skis. Huskies are born to pull, and they truly love it. Running is in their blood.

To ensure a calm and personal experience for both our guests and our dogs, all our activities are arranged privately.
This allows space for real connection, relaxation,
and unforgettable memories.
